We are excited about the opportunity to continue our partnership with two amazing schools in Fort Worth Independent School District.
The school year is off to a great start. The first week of school was a smashing success at C.C. Moss Elementary School and Edward J. Briscoe Elementary School.
Once again, we will be sponsoring a food pantry on the campus of C.C. Moss Elementary School. Additionally, a laundry room sponsored by Lockett Foundation will be available for use this school year. Andrea Heaston, Social Worker stated the staff and administration at C.C. Moss is very thankful for the resources Lockett Foundation has provided to the students at C.C. Moss over the past two years. We are humbled and excited to have the opportunity to continue fighting food insecurity and hunger on the C.C. Moss campus.
We are also excited about our continued partnership with Edward J. Briscoe Elementary School. Devona Burgess, Principal of Briscoe Elementary recently shared the following thoughts with our Executive Director,
Edward J. Briscoe is honored to partner with the Lockett Family Charitable Foundation and celebrate its 5th anniversary of helping countless families and supporting the community. Mr. Jerome Johnson sets a standard that places people first, and we are blessed to have him as a partner at Edward J. Briscoe Elementary. He serves on our SBDM committee and provides valuable input that pushes us forward. He continues to advocate for our school through the Lockett Family Charitable Foundation, which has connected us with other agencies and community partners who have provided snacks for tutoring, Saturday School, incentives, and catering for Staff.
Mr. Johnson is always looking for ways to better support what we are trying to achieve at our campus. He participated as an enthusiastic leader of one of our Houses, Heshima the purple house, and was our students’ role model and mentor. To kick off the 2020-2021 school year, he extended an invitation for our campus leaders to join the Foundation’s visioning event. Through that event, we have seen our vision begin to become a reality.
We are looking forward to seeing what this partnership will continue to bring. We could not do the work we do without the Lockett Family Charitable Foundation. Thank you for all that you do. The best is yet to come!
